Bhaktapur means the city of devotees and is a center of potter and intriguing masks. The major sight seeing places are, Durbar Square, of 55 windows, Nyatapola, Bhairavnath Temple, Dattatreya Temple etc. Pashupatinath Temple the holiest Hindu Temple on the bank of Bagmati River. Cremation services take place on the banks of Bagmati River. Buddhanath is the biggest of the Buddhist Stupa architecture. Erected in the 17th century and is believed to be a "must visit" pilgrimage site for Buddhist in their lifetime. Boudhanath area is densely inhabited by Tibetan refugees and carries the name as Little Tibet. Out side Kathmandu you will enjoy in Pokhara, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Lumbini, Chitwan, Gorkha, Daman, Tansen and many more beautiful places. Foreigner who intends to visit Nepal must hold valid passport or any travel document equivalent topassport issued by the Govt. for visiting a foreign country prior to apply for visa.

 

Getting in to Nepal
By Road:
There are several entry points by land route mainly from Nepal / Indian borders: a) Kakarvita, b) Birgunj c) Bhairahawa d) Nepalganj e) Dhangadhi f) Mahendranagar Scheduled public bus as well as tourist buses run to and from Kathmandu.There is entry point from Tibet Boarder to Nepal if you are traveling through Tibet (China).

Nepal Climate
The hill, mid-hills and particularly the Kathmandu valleys are pleasant with warm summers and cool winters. Temperature ranges between maximum of 37 and minimum of 6 degree Celsius in the plains, 28 and 2 degree Celsius in the Kathmandu valley and 16 and 6 degree Celsius in the mountains.

Himalayan Region: The altitude of this region ranges between 4877 meters and 8848 meters with the snow line running around 48848 meters. It includes 8 of the existing 14 summits in the world which exceed an altitude of 8000 meters.

 

Nepal Currency
Nepali Rupee notes come in Rs. 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 500, 1000 denominations. Coins come in 5 paisa, 10p, 25p, Rs. 1, 2 and 5 denominations.Foreign currencies must be exchanged only through banks or authorized money exchangers.
